Writers are now able to bypass the traditional publishing process. By using new web technologies, writers can publish, promote and sell their own work - at very low cost. All that's needed is confidence and a bit of basic technical know-how.

Some solutions

Light bulb moments
Here's what I realised during the course of the workshops:
- By using web-based technologies, writers can now publish, promote and sell their own work.
- Most writers are very interested in exploiting (or just exploring) these possibilities.
- Almost no local writer is doing so.
- They believe they don't have the skills and they lack confidence.
- Creating a website or blog seems too complicated and expensive to even contemplate.
- An author website or blog can be created for free, or at very low cost.
- Managing a website can be as easy as using a word-processing programme.
- I have created websites for complete internet novices.
- With just a little coaching they are are now managing their websites completely by themselves.
- This includes adding and removing pages, changing styles and layout, adding or removing pictures, editing or updating text and selling products on-line.
